BET’s Soul Train Awards: The Biggest Televised Family Reunion

Written by: Krystal Ketcham

BET’s Soul Train Awards is more than a celebration of life, legacy, and, music. It’s a family reunion. The type of family reunion you look forward to going to every year.

Since 1973, Soul Train has given artists such as The Temptations, New Edition, James Brown, Jackson 5, Janet Jackson, and many more the platform to showcase their talent in front of the masses. Their groundbreaking performances set the standard and made it clear to naysayers that black is excellence. Almost 45 years later, BET continues to honor and spread the message with the Soul Train Awards. This year’s star-studded black carpet screamed excellence with appearances by Kid N Play, Bell Biv DeVoe, Jessie Collins, Jacquees, Normani, Justine Sky, Bobby Jones, SZA, Erykah Badu, Laz Alonso, Faith Evans, Stevie J, and the hosts of the evening Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold.

The highly-anticipated award show honors trailblazers who not only blazed a trail in the music industry but left a legacy for the next generation to follow. Trailblazers such as Faith Evans and Erykah Badu. Both women are set to be honored on Sunday night.

Be sure to tune into the Soul Train Awards on Sunday, November 25 th  at 8 pm on BET.
