Girl Power Hour Radio recently sat with the ladies of OWN Network’s new unscripted series “Love and Marriage Huntsville” to learn more about them and the series. Exhibiting “girl power” to it’s fullest the ladies featured on the series include Melody Holt, Kimmi Grant, and LaTisha M. Scott.

The wife of Martell Holt, Melody is the CEO of Holt and Holt Entrepreneurship, LLC, a licensed homebuilder, co-author, philanthropist, mother, and much more. The ex-teach is also my soror, a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Another phenomenal woman, Kimmi Grant, wife of Maurice Scott, is a registered nurse, entrepreneur, real estate agent, tv personality, and mother. Last but not least is LiTisha M. Scott, a mother of three, commercial developer, and the wife of Marsau Scott.

During our intimate luncheon at the Gathering Spot, we learned even more about these fantastic women! These ladies spoke to us about being the minority in predominately white male careers and having to stand out in order to get the job. As successful, college-educated women, these ladies regularly juggle careers, businesses, motherhood, and marriages look easy; making them very relatable.

With their husbands by their sides, the ladies have allowed cameras to showcase their lives as successful couples in Huntsville, AL. Each couple with their own unique storyline:

Melody and Martell Holt are trying to balance their business and personal lives together while dealing with the aftermath of Martell stepping out on Melody. Kimmi and Grant are the newlyweds on the show, we get to see them get married in Miami. However, LaTisha and Marsau are the biggest topic of discussion, due to LaTisha being seen as the “submissive wife” on the show. She takes pride in her role of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the kids.

Though viewers will get a lot of things out of watching “Love and Marriage Huntsville,” they should also notice that these women, though different, have a lot of similarities. Sharing a strong bond, the ladies act as friends first and business partners second. They talk to each other, cry with one another, uplift and empower each other.

Make sure to tune in on Saturdays at 10 PM ET/9 PM CT on the OWN Network to see all the tea, sisterhood, and more from “Love and Marriage Huntsville”!
